The Rua das Flores and the Rua Mouzinho da Silveira start where the S. Bento station ends. From there to Ribeira (river side), the streets lead us through a new and improved Porto, open to the world and always prepared to share a glass of wine.
What to visit
Rua das Flores
The Rua das Flores was vastly restored and improved over the past few years. Today it is dominated by street artists, artistic distribution boxes, cafés and the new (and newly awarded) Museum of the Misericórdia do Porto.
Rua Mouzinho da Silveira
Just like Rua das Flores, this street was and is still being renovated. Now with a fresh new face, keep an eye out on this street because cool new cafes and hip restaurants are popping up at every corner.
Palácio da Bolsa
Rua de Ferreira Borges. The Arabic room, the library and the Salão Nobre are well worth the visit to the headquarters of Porto’s Commercial Association. Tickets are 8€ for adults and 4.5€ for students.
Rua das Flores, 22. The traditional puppetry theatre is honoured in this museum established by Porto’s Puppet Theatre. Tickets are 2€ and 3.5€ with a guided tour.
The Ferreira Borges market is one of the best samples of the iron architecture in Porto. Currently, it hosts 2 concert halls and a European/Portuguese fusion restaurant.
Ribeira do Porto
This is one of the most iconic areas of Porto. You can’t stay you’ve been to Porto if you didn’t go to Ribeira!
